Tom brings over 18 years of experience in the field fire origin and cause investigation. He served the with the City of Sterling Heights, Michigan Fire Department for 26 years. His last position held was that of Fire Marshal. After retirement from the department in 2005, he continued his career in fire investigation in private industry. Tom has investigated or supervised over 2,800 investigations related to fraud, arson and subrogation issues. He has received hundreds of hours in specialized training related to this field. Tom is certified as a Fire Investigator through the International Association of Arson Investigators, The National Association of Fire Investigators and The National Board of Fire Service Professionals. He is also a Certified Fire Inspector through the State of Michigan and The International Code Council. Tom has been recognized as an expert witness related to fire origin and cause in several Circuit Courts and the United States Federal Court.
