Jim joined State-Wide Consulting & Investigating, LLC. in 2020 and brings over 19 years of experience in the field of engineering in support of fire origin and cause investigation. He has been a Professional Engineer licensed in Michigan for 45 years. He has over 30 years of engineering design and management experience for systems including medium and low voltage power distribution, mission-critical power systems including standby power generation and uninterruptible power supply, outdoor and indoor lighting, life-safety and communications systems. His design career began with the City of Detroit’s Public Lighting Department and moved to private-sector design firms. His last position was that of Director of Electrical Engineering with BEI Associates in Detroit. He began a new career in 2003 in the field of engineering support for fire investigation in private industry. Since then, he has attended over 500 fire investigations and has received over 100 hours of continued training related to engineering and fire investigations.
